Akkerman House - Cairns, QLD, date

The Akkerman House is lean of material, cost-effective, yet elegant.  A galvanised steel superstructure with single skin plywood, exposed timber frame walls in the North Queensland tradition.  Again gas-strutted shutters - but there’s still a louvre and casement or three.  Old but new.
